Trip Introduction

There are two fascinating treks South and North side of Deo Tibba. In this trek we take trail that goes to North of Deo Tibba at Piang Neru, from where it provides more clear view of Deo Tibba peak situated at an altitude of 6001m in the Eastern Pin Panjal range of Himalayas. Lush green meadows carpeted with wild flowers as well as herbal plants grows abundantly here. A comfortable trek, the route is full of panoramic views along thick forest and alpine plateau to the Piang Neru. Piang Neru nala or Jobri nallah is a principal tributary of the Hamta nallah.

From Jagatsukh/Banara we follow one of the best alpine walks with an untiring gradient to Sarotu thach (Thach – meadow), Jogi dug, Rauli Kholi. Crossing wonderful alpine plateau a breath-taking view of Deo Tibba appears with magical suddenness. Piang Neru at about 3700 meters where lateral morains of the Piang Neru glacier comes to an end. We walk to the source of Jobri nallah, just beneath the Deo Tibba peak on rocky terrain and glacier. Finally we make our way through Marhi which is favourite area of Shepherds and finally descent to Jobri.

Outline Itinerary  (Mid June to Oct end)
Day 1
: Manali, Drive to Jagatsukh (1850m) - Banara (2100m), 12 kms Trek Tilgan (2600m) - Sarotu (2980m), 6-7 hrs.
Day 2: Sarotu to Jogidug (3200m) - Kharmandiyari (3400), 6-7 hrs.
Day 3: Kharmandiyari to Rauli Kholi (3800m) to Piyang Neru (3600m), 6-7 hrs
Day 4: Trek to Deo Tibba glacier (4000m) - back to camp
Day 5: Piyang Neru to Marhi - Jobri (2800) m 5-6 hrs, Drive to Manali 1 hr.

Outline itinerary (Mid April to Mid June)
Day 1
: Manali, drive to Jagatsukh (1850m) - Banara (2100m) 12 kms, Trek to Tilgan (2600m) - Sarotu (2980m)
Day 2: Sarotu to Jogi dug (3200m) - Kharmandiyari (3400m), 6-7 hrs.
Day 3: Kharmandiyari to Marhi (3600m), 7-8 hrs
Day 4: Marhi to Piyang Neroo (3600m), 6-7 hrs
Day 5: Trek to Jobri (2800m), drive to Manali 1 hr.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Manali, Drive to Jagatsukh (1850m) - Banara (2100m), 12 kms Trek Tilgan (2600m) - Sarotu (2980m), 6-7 hrs.

Today after breakfast we drive to Jagatsukh village situated at the distance of 6 kms south of Manali on the left banks of Beas river or Manali – Naggar main route. Once it was the old capital of Kullu, is one of the biggest village in Kullu valley. Main attraction of this village is Shiva temple built in 8th century in shikara style and also famous for its ancient temples.It is famous of its Chacholi Jatra festival. Continue to drive to Banara, starting our trek. Banara village. Located above Jagatsukh village. Surrounding great view of upper Kullu valley. We now climb through thickly forest, during summer this trail with abundance of flowers. We arrive at lush green meadows of Tilgan and contine ascent to Sarotu Thach. To the North the view of Manali and Upper Beas river valley is one of best view you will have in this day. Finally arrive at camp and you will be served with hot chai and snacks.

Day 2: Sarotu to Jogidug (3200m) - Kharmandiyari (3400), 6-7 hrs.
Gradual walk after the camp until reaching a small stream. After crossing few hours through dense forest to a open space known as Jogi dug. Which is holy site to locals. We will arrive at above tree line from where the magnificient view of Pir Panjal range on west side and Brigu Lake Mountains. This entire slopes became famous in world due to one of the best ski slopes in the world. During winter Heli Skiing is major activities on this hills. Below us lies Sethan village and far main Hamta valley. Leaving treeline we walk short through meadows to the campsite of Kharmandiyari. The magnificient campsite with panoramic view.

Day 3: Kharmandiyari - Rauli Kholi (3800m) to Piyang Neru (3600m), 6-7 hrs
Today after breakfast the trail crosses over slopes and alpine pasture. We climb for 1-2 hrs to reach the Rauli Kholi. With first view of Deo Tibba massif can be seen from here. We descend down to Jobri nallah. This part is fully covered with medicinal herbs and plants. We cross Jobri nallah and have great view of Deo Tibba massif. During spring till end of autumn entire area is filled with sheperds. Crossing this river we reach the campsite of Piyang Neru. One of the best camp spot of our trek.

Day 4: Piyang Neru to glacier walk (4000m)
Today after breakfast we set out for a glacier walk. As you approach close to the peak crossing crevasses, rocky moraines the view of hanging glaciers and surroundings makes this day pleasant. After a good break and having lunch retrace back to Piyang Neru camp site. There are many boulders with different sizes & shapes, try some bouldering or just relax in the camp.

Day 5: Piyang Neru to Jobri (2800) m 5-6 hrs, Drive to Manali 1 hr
Leaving camp we walk along the right side of River and short ascent to Marhi, during summer this area is filled with shepherds. Finally a long descent to Jobri road head. Your vehicle will be waiting at Jobri. Its 1 hour drive to Manali. Another option if you reach early at Jobri, it's possible that you can continue trek to Chichoga passing through Rahni thach. Which will take 4 hrs. Trip ends and end of our services.

Trekking Gear

What we provide
We provide all the GROUP GEAR included in the following list:

3-4 Person roomy 4 season tents for 2 - 3 people and individual as well, dining tent, toilet tent and other camping accessories.
Sleeping bags and comfortable foam mattresses.
Kitchen tent, Stoves, fuel, cookware etc.
Bed tea, nutritious breakfast, three course meal (dinner), packed lunch, post trek snacks, tea and coffee.
Trekking poles and Duffel bags for your luggage's.
Basic first aid box and mini oxygen bottles

What you may need - Your personal gear recommended in List :-
Day pack: A bit of bigger size 30 - 40 liters in order to keep fleece, jacket, water bottle, camera, packed lunch

Foot wear :-
Good condition trekking boots – not new used before in your country side for best fit for trekking, water proof.
Camp shoes, light and comfortable as running shoes or sandal ( like Teva ) for river crossing. Its necessity for you to bring sandals for river crossing.
Socks both Woolen and cotton as desire.

Clothing :-
Gore tex jacket or similar.
Down jacket/vest is good for cool evenings.
Wind/Rain jacket: (i.e. gore-tex, northface or similar) waterproof and breathable. Its necessity to have jacket while crossing passes.
Trekking pants, light, comfortable, water proof /breathable.
Long sleeve shirt Light weight dry-fast (for sun/insect protection).
Thermal innerwear winter thermal innerwear.
T-shirts for day time.
One mid weight/heavyweight fleece (long sleeve) jacket or warm pullover.
Short pants, underwear.
Sun Hat: cowboy style or baseball style to protect skin from direct sunlight.
Woolen cap for high altitude or while crossing pass or during evenings in camp.
One fleece or sweatpants for cold evenings during dining.
A pair of Hand gloves or woolen gloves.
Scarf to protect from dust or sunlight around neck. This is available in local markets with variety of colors.

Accessories :- 
Sun glasses with UV protection. An extra sun glass in case to replace.
Sun screen and lip protection.
Moisturizer cream: In Ladakh the air is dry and sun is harsh and strong during day. There are local moisturizer cream available in market. To avoid somehow skin allergy bring your personal cream.
Water bottle. Minimum I - 2 liter.
Trekking poles or sticks. If you have your own folded poles. 
Torch or one head lamp with extra batteries. Petzl or similar.
One toiletries kit, small towel.
Reading and writing materials.
Digital Camera or digital video recorder / solar charger.
Water purification tablets.
Nylon or water proof plastic bags to storage clothes and stuff.
One pocket knife light.

Others :- 
Gaiter / personal  climbing gear. (Can rent at Manali or Leh or Uttarkashi).
Water purification/filter: we boil water for you in the camp, what its essential you to have a water purification tablets or filter during the day of trekking.
Mosquito repellent cream.
Small Binocular.
First aid kit: We carry basic first aid kit with diamox, aspirin, paracetamol, antibiotics for diarrhea, antiseptic, bandage and band aids, Please you bring your personal first aid kit with medicine you think to need necessity for you.
Vitamin tablets or similar. 
Extra passport photos.
