TRIP OVERVIEW
Himachal has many hidden lakes, most of which are popular among Hindu pilgrims. Ghepan Ghat is tucked in the remote Central Himalayan region of Lahaul. Mostly popular among Lahauli and Himachali. This turquoise Ghepan Ghat Lake is situated at 4,130m or 13550ft above sea level. The trail to the Lake stretches high above the River, you will see spectacular sights of snow-capped peaks, meadows are carpeted with a variety of flowers, and listen to the thundering sounds of rivers and waterfalls. A moderate hike to anyone with some difficult river crossings and rugged trails. The Ghepan Goh peak dominates the Chandra valley, so throughout the trek also. The Ghepan Ghat stretching over a mile long and make its complete glacial lake with small icebergs floating on its surface. The best time to reach this lake is from Mid June to October.

ITINERARY
Day 1
: Manali – Sissu (3050m), 40 km drive, Hike to Sissu Falls 2 Hrs.
Day 2: Sissu to Labrang (3300m) Trailhead 9 km drive, Trek to Camp 1 (3,870m) 4 km.
Day 3: Camp 1 to Camp 2 (3900m), 6 km trek.
Day 4: Camp 2 to Ghepan Ghat (4,130m/13600ft) – back to Camp 2, 8 km trek.
Day 5: Camp 2 to Sissu Trailhead10 km trek, Sissu to Manali. 40 km drive.

ITINERARY
Day 1
: Manali – Sissu (3050m), 40 km drive, Hike to Sissu Falls (3220m) 2 Hrs.
Leaving Manali you drive to Sissu nursery. A 2 hr hike to Sissu falls. A moderate hike to Sissu falls. Sissu Falls is located in Lahaul at Sissu. Situated close to Chandra River. The source of water is the glaciers of Shikhar Beh and Mukar Beh peaks. The fall has a drop of almost 50 meters and is considered one of the best waterfalls in Himachal Pradesh. The hike begins from Sissu nursery and goes along the left banks of Chandra River, later a gradual ascend through the fields of peas, potatoes, barley, and finally through meadows to falls. The trail presents a spectacular view of Chandra valley and Gepang Goh peak which dominates the valley. Finally arrive at Sissu for overnight homestay.

Day 2: Sissu to Labrang (3300m) Trailhead 9 km drive, Trek to Camp 1 (3,870m) 4 km.
A short drive to the trailhead, following the road up 9 km passing by Labrang monastery.
The first part of the hike is on rocky trails and followed by alpine meadows. The two peaks of Shikhar Beh and Mukar Beh rising across the valley. A steep ascent through fields and passing by Shepherds with their flocks, you arrive at a meadow filled with wildflowers. We will camp here.

Day 3: Camp 1 to Camp 2 (3900m), 6 km trek.
Today leaving the meadow area the trail goes to cross a raging stream. Crossing it, the trail goes high above the river and on the mountainside. A series of wildflowers path along the way. Across the river, a Sapt Dhara fall can be seen. As you climb gently up and down through rocky patches to camp 2. Along the slopes for hours, the trails are mostly used by shepherds and at some point, it can be tricky. Arrive at camp 2 a semi-cold desert land.

Day 4: Camp 2 to Ghepan Ghat (4,130m/13550ft) – back to Camp 2, 8 km trek.
Today day 4 is a most awaited day for all of you. Leaving camp you begin over small alpine green grass hills, next the trail goes over rocky blocks and patches to the turquoise green lake of Ghepan Ghat. The Ghepan Ghat stretching over a mile long and make its complete glacial lake with small icebergs floating on its surface. To the south of Ghepan ghat is lying the famous peak of Tinan valley known as Ghepan Goh peak dominating the area. After having lunch here, explore the lake and retrace back to camp 2.

Day 5: Camp 2 to Sissu Trailhead 10 km trek, Sissu to Manali. 40 km drive.
An early departure today from camp, in order to cross the stream before noon. The volume of the Himalayan stream always gets higher after mid-day. Retrace back to the flowered meadows and meet Shepherds and finally a short descent to the trailhead. Board on vehicle and stop to visit Labrang monastery before heading back to Manali via Atal Tunnel.

Trekking Gear

What we provide
We provide all the GROUP GEAR included in the following list:

3-4 Person roomy 4 season tents for 2 – 3 people and individual as well, dining tent, toilet tent and other camping accessories.
Sleeping bags and comfortable foam mattresses.
Kitchen tent, Stoves, fuel, cookware etc.
Bed tea, nutritious breakfast, three course meal (dinner), packed lunch, post trek snacks, tea and coffee.
Trekking poles and Duffel bags for your luggage’s.
Basic first aid box and mini oxygen bottles

What you may need – Your personal gear recommended in List :-
Day pack: A bit of bigger size 30 – 40 liters in order to keep fleece, jacket, water bottle, camera, packed lunch

Foot wear :-
Good condition trekking boots – not new used before in your country side for best fit for trekking, water proof.
Camp shoes, light and comfortable as running shoes or sandal ( like Teva ) for river crossing. Its necessity for you to bring sandals for river crossing.
Socks both Woolen and cotton as desire.

Clothing :-
Gore tex jacket or similar.
Down jacket/vest is good for cool evenings.
Wind/Rain jacket: (i.e. gore-tex, northface or similar) waterproof and breathable. Its necessity to have jacket while crossing passes.
Trekking pants, light, comfortable, water proof /breathable.
Long sleeve shirt Light weight dry-fast (for sun/insect protection).
Thermal innerwear winter thermal innerwear.
T-shirts for day time.
One mid weight/heavyweight fleece (long sleeve) jacket or warm pullover.
Short pants, underwear.
Sun Hat: cowboy style or baseball style to protect skin from direct sunlight.
Woolen cap for high altitude or while crossing pass or during evenings in camp.
One fleece or sweatpants for cold evenings during dining.
A pair of Hand gloves or woolen gloves.
Scarf to protect from dust or sunlight around neck. This is available in local markets with variety of colors.

Accessories :- 
Sun glasses with UV protection. An extra sun glass in case to replace.
Sun screen and lip protection.
Moisturizer cream: In Ladakh the air is dry and sun is harsh and strong during day. There are local moisturizer cream available in market. To avoid somehow skin allergy bring your personal cream.
Water bottle. Minimum I – 2 liter.
Trekking poles or sticks. If you have your own folded poles. 
Torch or one head lamp with extra batteries. Petzl or similar.
One toiletries kit, small towel.
Reading and writing materials.
Digital Camera or digital video recorder / solar charger.
Water purification tablets.
Nylon or water proof plastic bags to storage clothes and stuff.
One pocket knife light.

Others :- 
Gaiter / personal  climbing gear. (Can rent at Manali or Leh or Uttarkashi).
Water purification/filter: we boil water for you in the camp, what its essential you to have a water purification tablets or filter during the day of trekking.
Mosquito repellent cream.
Small Binocular.
First aid kit: We carry basic first aid kit with diamox, aspirin, paracetamol, antibiotics for diarrhea, antiseptic, bandage and band aids, Please you bring your personal first aid kit with medicine you think to need necessity for you.
Vitamin tablets or similar. 
Extra passport photos.
