The hill state of Uttarakhand lies between Himachal Pradesh and East of Nepal. Western part of Uttarakhand is known to Western as Garhwal Himalayan while East as Kumaun. Uttarakhand has a spectacular mountain peaks and scenery in Indian Himalaya. Gangotri ( 6672 m ), Kedarnath (6940m), Badrinath (6853m), Nilkanth (6957m), Nanda Devi (7817m) India’s second highest mountain and many more.
Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath known as CHAR DHAM (four sacred shrines) of Hindu are located in the Garhwal Himalaya. River Ganges takes its source at sacred shrines of Gangotri.
While Kumaun has a popular hill stations : Nainital, Kausani, Binsar, Bhimtal, Munsiari, Mukteshwar, Ranikhet, Almora, and the famous Jim Corbett Wildlife National Park.
