An exceptionally remote trek takes us complete off the beaten track. We trek through very remote country in the mystical kingdom of Zanskar. We gradually make our way through the mountains of Zanskar, crossing numerous passes and a series of gorges and pass beautiful villages. Continue to follow along the turquoise river Tsarap Chu, go gently exposed in the canyon route, eventually reaching the temple Phuktal Gompa, one of the most amazing temple located on the planet. Now we are in the heart of Zanskar, the settlement that you come across on our tour is the vision of the old days in Tibet and the frame ideal for photographers. Camp are pleasant places to cross our highest pass Phirtse La.

Detailed Trip Dossier
Day 1: Arrival Delhi, fly to Leh. Acclimatize – visit local market, Shanti Stupa, Samkar, Leh palace.
Today morning flight to Leh, but spectacular flight over the Himalaya to Leh. The rest of the day is free to relax and acclimatize to the altitude of 3500m as well as visit Leh palace, Tsemo gompa, Sankar and Shanti stupa.
Day 2: Leh acclimatize: Visit Shey - Thiksey - Hemis - Stok - Leh
Today after breakfast we drive to Stok which is situated opposite of Leh at a distance of 14 kms, crossing bridge over Indus at Choglamsar. At Stok visit of Royal Palace built during 1825 AD and palace has great collections of antiquity. Continue to visit Matho situated 10 kms from Stok, which has 10th century complex. Continue to Hemis monastery which is 45 km far from Leh and it takes 90 minute drive. The great Mahasiddha Staktsang Raspa along with great ancestor Singey Namgyal builds this biggest monastery in 16th century. After visiting this monastery, drive back to Thiksey monastery, which is 27 km from Hemis. This monastery is the oldest monastery of Gelugpa School in Ladakh. The great Lama Paldan Shesrap built it in 14th century. Here you can see the big statue of the Future Buddha. After visiting this monastery drive back to Leh via visiting Shey Palace. Overnight at hotel in Leh.
Day 3: Drive Leh - Wanla - Sirsir La (4805m) 5-6 hrs, Trek to Photoksar (4400m) 2-3 hrs.
Leaving Leh on Leh - Srinagar highway to Wanla and upto Sirsir la. Its 6-7 hrs of drive and acclimatize trek, from pass gentle and easy descend by following the good trek path to Photoksar an isolated and charming village. Evening explore the village. Campsite before the village near the river. Overnight at Camp. (4210m)
Day 4 - Trek to Boumitse La (4400m) - base of Singey La (Sengge La (4400m), 7-8 hrs.After breakfast, continue trek. Today you have to cross one easy pass. Right from the camp, start ascend for few meter and then continue along the clear path.beatiful view of village Photoksar and surrounding mountains and gorge. Carry on ascending up to top of Boumitse-la, from the pass you can directly see the Singey la Pass which is about more than three hours trek from this point. Continue to climb on a high pasture land on photang valley, where villagers of Photokars keep their yaks, dzo, and horses for grazing. At final stage we climb steep to Singey la 5060m the 2nd highest point of our trek. Sengge in Tibetan means lion. So its lion pass, the view and formations of pass appears like lion, from pass a panoramic view of Zanskar range, next 1 hrs of steep ascent to base camp.

Day 5 - Trek to Singey La/Sengge La (4950m) - Yulchung (3900m)
Right from the camp, start ascending up to top of Singe-la. It is easy to ascend but 1200m before the top, it is steep ascend in zigzag. From the pass, the route descends steeply to a loose boulder strewn area. This is called Champado Gongma. Continue along the right side of the valley, clear path up to village Skyumphatta. Beautiful and awesome view of landscape of the valley. Follow the beaten easy track and on the way you find a junction. One goes straight towards Lingshed and another goes down towards Yulchung village that you see below. Take left handside and then descend down in zig zag clear path.
Day 6: Trek to Lingshed (3900m)
Leaving Yulchung this morning we head to Lingshed, which is 500 meters above Yulchung. We follow the small trail that leads north out of the village, ascending through pasture. Now climbing steeply into canyon, we will have to cross the newly bridge motor able. We cross small passes enroute to Linghsed.

Day 7: Trek to Barmi La (4600m) – Lingshed Sumdo, 6-7 hrs
Leaving main trail we climb to Barmi la pass and descend through narrow gorge to Lingshed Sumdo. There are some river crossing involve short before arrival of Lingshed Sumdo.

Day 8: Trek to Dibling (4000m) 5-6 hrs.
We follow Oma Chu River to Dibling and numbers of time main River and side streams to be cross. At some stretches its tricky to find way. Keeping our pace on the valley floor continue to Dibling.Dibling is one of the remotest village in Ladakh and inhabitants of this village often visit Lingshed.

Day 9: Trek to Base Pikdong la (4200m), 5 hrs
After exploring the village we continue to our campsite short after crossing the bridge in large open meadows and crossing stream short before the Dibling Doksa to our campsite.

Day 10: Trek to Pikdong La (5020m) – Kanji Sumdo (4300m), 7 hrs
Today leaving camp steep ascent to Pikdong la. Gradual descent after pass in a narrow gorge. Crossing of stream at several points and need to find out the way. Short climb to a ridge and high above the River we follow a well define trail to Kanji Sumdo. We cross 2 river close to Kanji Sumdo

Day 11: Trek to Kanji La (5250m) - Kanji La North Base Camp (4350m), 7-8 hrs
We follow a small trail to the junction and here we will have first view of Nun and Kun which remains in sight during our climb to Kanji la pass. The more we go up the better appreance of peak rising in Great Himalayan Range. Some of known and famous peaks are Hagshu, Doda and Brahma.It is long climb through rocky morain to the pass. On a clear sky one can have a clear view of Nanga Parbat to the west and K2 to the North. A tricky descent short after pass which consist of loose rocks than on a small glacier. A resting place which points towards the view of K2 peak. So high range of zoom and camera is must for this trek to enjoy the view of Karakorum peaks. Continue descent to campsite.

Day 12: Trek to Kanji (3850m) 5 -6 hrsToday trekking along the stream and which passes through narrow gorge to the large open field. We will meet with Yaks, Dzo which signifies arrival of Kanji village. Explore the village Overnight camp.

Day 13 - Trek to Kanji Dok - Yogma La (4720m) - Shilakong (4300m), 6-7 hrs
Morning after breakfast, you explore the village and attract with the innocent villagers. About 15 houses. After then you start your first day trek with easy trek along the right side of upstream river. After the easy walk for 2 hrs, you have gentle ascent and then you arrive at small hamlet where you find the campsite. The view of the valley and its stunning mountains from here is indescribable. Enjoy the scenic beauty of nature of Himalayan Mountains. Continue for an hour and ascend towards the Yogma-la (4720m). From the top of the pass you have spectacular view of landscape. After enjoying few minutes at the top you have gentle descent and then you arrive at the camp. (4300m)

Day 14: Trek to Prinkiti la - Lamayuru, Drive to Leh.
Today is last of trekking. After the camp into the gorge for several hours and leaving the gorge we take left hand narrow gully to small pass of Prinkiti la. Arriving at Lamayuru. Overnight camp.
