The hill state of Uttarakhand lies between Himachal Pradesh and East of Nepal. Western part of Uttarakhand is known to Western as Garhwal Himalayan while East as Kumaun. Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath known as CHAR DHAM (four sacred shrines) of Hindu are located in the Garhwal Himalaya. River Ganges takes its source at sacred shrines of Gangotri.
